Trainees or “provisional pesticide operators” must be “qualified in basic pest control” and recieve a provisional license after successfully completing a 4 day introductory course in “Basic Pest Control” conducted by TAFE WA or other equivalent course, as approved by WA Dept of Health. Provisional licence is valid for 12 months, but may be extended for further 12 months
Trainees during first month of pesticide use must work “under the personal supervision” of a qualified pesticide operator. Thereafter, the Trainee must work under “regular and frequent supervision” but not necessarily personal supervision
